Information We Collect
NYC Pulse collects minimal information necessary to operate our news publication. This includes:
- Newsletter subscribers: Email address only. We use this to send our newsletter and nothing else.
- Push notification subscribers: Browser-generated subscription tokens. Used only to deliver news notifications. You can unsubscribe at any time via browser settings.
- Analytics: We use aggregate, anonymized traffic analytics (page views, referral sources) to understand our audience. We do not track individual users or build behavioral profiles.
- Server logs: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are retained for security and operational purposes for 30 days.
What We Don’t Do
- We do not sell your data to third parties
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising
- We do not build behavioral profiles of individual readers
- We do not share your email with advertisers or partners
Cookies
We use strictly functional cookies to remember your preferences (dark mode, font size, accessibility settings). These are stored locally in your browser and are not used for tracking. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Third-Party Services
Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts (via their CDN), which may collect anonymized usage data per Google’s privacy policy. We do not control third-party services’ data practices.
Your Rights
You may request deletion of your email from our newsletter list at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at privacy@nycpulse.news. We will process all deletion requests within 30 days.
