Smorgasburg, New York City’s premier outdoor food market, has officially returned to Williamsburg for its much-anticipated 2023 season. This year, food enthusiasts can indulge in a diverse selection of 40 new vendors, showcasing innovative dishes that reflect the city’s vibrant culinary landscape.
Located at East River State Park, Smorgasburg offers an array of cuisines from around the world, making it a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists. This season, vendors include a fusion taco stand, an artisanal donut shop, and a plant-based BBQ stall, all promising to tantalize taste buds and offer something for everyone.
“We’re thrilled to welcome back Smorgasburg with more vendors than ever,” said Eric Adams, Mayor of New York City. “This market is not just about food; it’s about community, creativity, and supporting local businesses. We encourage everyone to come out and experience the flavors of New York.”
One of the standout new vendors, “Tacos y Más,” combines traditional Mexican flavors with seasonal local ingredients, while “Sweet Indulgence” offers a unique twist on classic desserts, featuring flavors like lavender honey and matcha cheesecake. “We want to create an experience that feels both familiar and new,” said Maria Gonzalez, owner of Tacos y Más. “This is our opportunity to share our culture and passion for food with the community.”
In addition to the culinary delights, Smorgasburg will feature live music, local artisans, and activities for families, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere. The market runs every Saturday from 11 AM to 6 PM, providing a perfect weekend outing. With its stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, it’s not just a feast for the palate, but also for the eyes.
As New Yorkers continue to embrace outdoor dining and community gatherings, Smorgasburg stands out as a celebration of local talent and creativity. “It’s more than just a food market; it’s a cultural hub where people can connect over great food,” said Jessica Chen, a local food blogger. “I can’t wait to explore all the new vendors and support our local entrepreneurs.”
